Team Rules
1. Play the game for the love of the game; remember we are here to have fun!
2. Respect your Coaches, Parents, Teammates, Officials and most importantly yourself
3. When the coach is talking you are listening!
4. Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated!
5. All players must be in the dressing room 45 minutes before any game or 60 minutes before practice.
a. 20 minutes before game will be used as a warm-up and 40 minutes before practice will be used as Dry-Land training.
6. All players must attend all practices, games and team functions unless the Head Coach or Team Manager has been notified and has approved the player’s absence.
7. All players must be fully dressed and ready to go on the ice 10 minutes before game or practice time unless otherwise specified by the Head Coach.
8. All players will be properly dressed at all games, tournaments and any designated team functions. (dress code is as defined in BMHA rules)
9. As a member of the Team you are expected to support your Teammates with positive actions and comments.
10. NO Fighting: the OHF and OMHA have new rules for fighting. To make it simple, the first fight of the season will get a player 2 games (minimum), second fight will get a player 4 games, third fight in season an indefinite suspension and requires appearing before a board to explain why the player should be allowed to play hockey. If the player is identified as the Aggressor or Instigator by the Official they will get an additional 3 games.
Hockey is a Team sport so remember to:
a. Form good work habits
b. Play Hard
c. Play Smart
d. Play as a Team
Disciplinary action may be taken by the coach to enforce appropriate conduct including compliance with the BMHA policies and rules, the team rules and the BMHA rules for players and parents
The team rules are set by the coaching staff and disciplinary consequences are in the coaches’ reasonable discretion, and may include sitting a player out for portions of a practice or a game or suspension from play depending on the severity of the offense.
